Description
Traveling on a dirt road in the Badlands, I came across this old lonely Bison following a worn out trail used by many before him. A long HOT dry summer left very little to nourish on. His nose running, ribs showing, panting deep breathes and flies all around his head...he just kept on going and going.

What a great capture of this beautiful animal in it's natural environment. Hope he survived the summer. L/fv/tw

Great presentation of subject and background! Wonderful descriptive narrative. LF (Jens, you might be interested to know that I was just in the Badlands 8/23/14 and there has been quite a bit of the much needed rain! There was even green grass and flowers. I was not as lucky as you though, to see a bison this close.)

Wow - what a great find Jens. Love the up-close Bison with the beautiful landscape in the background. Great lighting. Love how you captured shade and lighting on the Bison. Thanks for the description. This certainly depicts the dry, hot weather as well. Added to my favorites and tweeted. L/F/T. Keep up the great work!
